St. Bartholomew's Parish looking for a Receptionist/Administrative Assistant

St. Bartholomew's Parish in Scarborough is looking for a full-time (35 hours per week) Receptionist/ Administrative Assistant including some bookkeeping duties. The successful applicant will be responsible for the day to day management of a small office as the only employee on site.

Bookkeeping skills including working knowledge of “QuickBooks” are required. Previous church administrative experience would be an asset as well as experience with “Parish Tools.”

St. Patrick's Parish is looking for a
Choir Director, SATB Choir

St. Patrick's Parish, 5633 Highway #7, Markham.

St. Patrick's Parish, a large, diverse and dynamic community, seeks a choir director for an existing SATB choir. This pastoral musician will continue to develop the music tradition established by this adult choir, who have fostered the congregation's active participation in the liturgy for the past 30 years. The candidate should have a thorough knowledge of Catholic liturgy, traditional and contemporary liturgical music, and the ability to conduct instruments in an orchestral setting. Responsibilities include planning, preparing, and leading the music for the 9:30 a.m. Mass each Sunday in addition to special liturgical celebrations. Weekly rehearsals occur Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. Instruments: Letourneau pipe organ, keyboard.

Solemn High Mass on the Feast of the Sacred Heart

A Solemn High Mass according to the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Church, 830 Bathurst St. (across from Bathurst Subway Station) The Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Father Steven Szackaczki, with Rev. Father Paul Dobson as Deacon, Rev. Father Kim D’Souza as Subdeacon, and The Most Rev. John A. Boissonneau, Auxiliary Bishop of Toronto as Homilist.

This Mass is sponsored by the St. Patrick’s Gregorian Choir.  A reception will follow.

The Holy Mass for the Feast of
Corpus Christi

This will be celebrated on its "traditional" day, June 23rd. The Mass will be celebrated according the Usus Antiquior (Ancient Use) of the 1962 Roman Missal which Pope Benedict XVI has referred to as the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite. A procession of the Blessed Sacrament will follow the Mass.

91st Annual National Convention

August 14-17, 2011, Toronto.

Over 600 Catholic women of faith will gather at the Toronto Marriott Downtown Eaton Centre Hotel in Toronto from August 14-17, 2011 for the Catholic Women's League of Canada 91st annual national convention on the theme “Centred on Faith & Justice.”

Keynote speakers will be Dr. Nancy Reeves, a registered clinical psychologist, spiritual director, best-selling author and internationally respected workshop facilitator, and Linnea Good who holds a Masters degree in Religious Education, and who is called the “contemporary musical voice of the emerging church in Canada.” Dr. Reeves’ and Ms. Good's address is titled, “The Poor Have Good News Brought to Them” (Luke 7.22).

St. Paul’s Basilica Summer Hours

St. Paul’s Basilica has seen an increase in the number of visitors who come and pray and enjoy the architecture of Toronto’s oldest parish.

Accordingly, during the summer months, the Basilica will be open on Sundays from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. for parishioners and friends who wish to visit.

Sunday Mass times are 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

St. Paul’s Basilica is located at 83 Power Street in Toronto. (Sherbourne and Queen area.)

All are welcome.

Divine Mercy Pilgrimage at Regina Mundi

Magnificat invites individuals and groups to make a Divine Mercy pilgrimage to the King of Mercy open air Oratory at Regina Mundi and participate in a prayer program on Sunday afternoons in July and August.

The program runs from 1:00 p.m – 5:00 p.m. and starts in Vanier Hall. Weather permitting, the pilgrimage moves to the open air Way of the Cross, followed by Mass in the Oratory. The opportunity for confession is offered. For seniors and those with mobility issues, the way of the cross is held in Vanier Hall. Cars and busses can be parked free. Bring some delicacies and have a picnic afterwards.

July 3rd of this year marks the eighth anniversary of the Oratory and on July 17, 2011, His Excellency Bishop William MacGrattan will participate and celebrate the Mass.

The Magnificat Charismatic Prayer Community at Regina Mundi has taken as their special mission to spread the Divine Mercy Devotion given by Jesus to St. Faustina and promoted by Pope Jean Paul II. All of us need to convert, experience Gods infinite unfathomable Mercy, and pray for all sinners.

Regina Mundi is in Queensville on Warden Ave. less than one kilometer North of Mount Albert Side Road, two blocks away from the current ending of Hwy. 404.

Dr. Lombardi will provide a basic overview of a nine step counseling-model, the need for self-awareness, boundaries and confidentiality, and referrals. Please note this day is not meant to offer any certification in pastoral counseling. It is offered as an introduction and will provide information regarding other options for specializing in this form of pastoral ministry.
