Regis College to offer Online Course on "Welcoming the New Roman Missal"

The 2011-2012 Windows on Theology Continuous Learning Series will offer four non-credit courses, including its first online offering "Preparing Hearts, Minds and Places: Welcoming the New Roman Missal" presented by Professor Gilles Mongeau, S.J.
The "Preparing Hearts, Minds and Places" course will also be offered as a one-day workshop.

The online course responds to demand from parishes and dioceses across Canada for educational support as they prepare to implement changes in the celebration of the Roman Catholic Eucharist beginning with the first Sunday in Advent.

OFFICIAL PILGRIMAGE TO DUBLIN IRELAND
50TH INTERNATIONAL EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS

June 10 - June 17, 2012

The Archdiocese of Toronto is organizing a pilgrimage to the 50th International Eucharistic Congress that will take place in Dublin, Ireland, from June 10, 2012 - June 17, 2012.  There will be an option for an extended stay in Ireland highlighting the religious and historical sites from June 18th - June 25th. Archbishop Collins will also be attending as well as Catholics from around the world.

The total cost of the pilgrimage is $2630.00cdn (includes airfare, accommodation, Congress registration fees, public transit fees, meals and special events).

Marian Evenings with Our Lady of the Cape Pilgrim Statue

The Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of the Cape usually visits parishes in Ontario for Marian Evenings with Father Yoland Ouellet, O.M.I.  The Marian Evening with Our Lady of the Cape consists of the celebration of the Mass in the evening, a candlelight procession and the crowning of the pilgrim statue of Our Lady. The Rosary is also prayed before Mass.  A basket is placed at the foot of the statue to receive written intentions or petitions for Our Lady’s intercession.  The Mass at each Marian Evening is celebrated for those intentions and for the intentions of those present.  Religious articles of Our Lady of the Cape are usually available following the celebration.

Organ Donation: A Catholic Perspective

The Canadian Catholic Bioethics Institute and the University of St. Michael’s College Campus Ministry will co-host “Organ Donation: A Catholic Perspective”. Other speakers include moral theologian, Dr. Moira McQueen, Executive Director of the Canadian Catholic Bioethics Institute, and Marilyn Elpnick, MDiv, Director of USMC’s Campus Ministry.

House Parents Needed

Toronto Catholic Children’s Aid requires live-in House Parents for male and female teen homes.  Candidates will have a CYW and/or equal experience working with youth at a foster care treatment level. You will care for up to six teens in a safe and caring environment. We seek couples or individuals, with one parent remaining at home full-time.

CCAS offers a furnished home along with intensive Resource Worker support.   We provide a daily per diem of $61.38 per youth, and reimburse daily expenses.

Bronze Bust by Gustin of
Blessed John Paul II

An impressive bust of John Paul II, depicting both a young and an older look of the now blessed man that was Pope for over 26 years, is currently on exhibition at St. Paul's Basilica in Toronto. This work of art is prominently displayed at the Basilica for the next few months where the beauty of this church accompanies the beauty of this art piece.

The bronze bust was created in 2005 by Dutch sculptor Gustin Keser (www.gustinkeser.be) to immortalize the man acclaimed as one of the most influential leaders of the 20th century. The bronze already adorns a few Basilicas in Europe, including Poland where Karol Wojtyla was born.

Fr. Lucien COUTU, C.S.C., founder of the Emmaus Centre for Eastern Christian Spirituality in Montreal and author of “Meditation and Prayer of the Heart” will present three sessions on the Jesus Prayer, Unceasing Prayer and Meditation. Fr. Coutu has been presenting workshops on the Jesus Prayer for 30 years. Each session will begin with a talk (1 hr), followed by a meditation (½ hr) and will end with a Q&A (½ hr).
