Promulgation of the “Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy” (Sacrosanctum Concilium).
International Commission on English in the Liturgy (ICEL) established as a result of the Second Vatican Council's decision to allow the public celebration of liturgy in the vernacular.
1969:
“Instruction on the translation of Liturgical texts for celebrations with a Congregation” (Comme le prévoit) issued by the Consilium providing principles (dynamic equivalence) for translating the Latin liturgical texts into the vernacular.

2001:
“On the Use of Vernacular Languages in the Publication of the Books of the Roman Liturgy” (Liturgiam Authenticum) issued by the Congregation for Divine Worship and Discipline of the Sacraments providing new guidelines for the translation of liturgical texts (formal equivalence).
Vox Clara Committee founded by the Congregation for Divine Worship and Discipline of the Sacraments
2002:
Third Typical Edition (Editio Typica) of the Roman Missal published in Latin.
2008:
Third Typical Edition (Editio Typica) of the Roman Missal reprinted in Latin with changes and additions.
2010:
English language translation of the Third Typical Edition for use in Canada approved and confirmed by the Congregation for Divine Worship and Discipline of the Sacraments.
2011:
The Proper Calendar, variations to the English text of the Propers of the Mass, and text of the General Instruction of the Roman Missal with Adaptations for use in Canada approved by the Congregations for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments.
